WHY A TECH BREAK IS IMPORTANT

July 26, 2019

When you’re not working, what are you doing?
Are you watching TV? Are you on your phone? Are you looking at social media? Are you reading on an e-reader?
We spend so much time sitting in our office chairs, usually looking at a computer screen, that doing the same thing when you go home is total technology overload!
Being constantly switched on and connected to the Internet is officially not a good thing. You need time away from screens, whether mobile or static! Why not take some time out and go for a walk in nature? Take the dog out, go and visit a friend, go for dinner, play a sport!
Tech overload can easily contribute towards stress, and stress is not something to invite into your life. When you’re sat at your stylish office desk you can’t help the fact you need to use a computer of some kind, but when you’re home, leave it alone! Give yourself the time you need to recover, let your eyes rest, your brain chill, and basically enjoy time with the people around you, rather than being constantly connected to a lump of plastic, no matter how intelligent and advanced it is!
So, challenge yourself. For the next week, dedicate your home time and break times to avoiding technology. You’re allowed to check your social media for no more than half an hour - that’s it. See if you can do it, and see how great you feel afterwards.
Are you tech-addicted?
